OCD THERAPY IN LOS ANGELES & ONLINE THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA
Your life can be bigger than doubt.
Let me guess…
You keep searching for certainty, but the doubt keeps coming back.
An unwanted thought shows up, and suddenly it feels like something you need to figure out. What if you hurt someone? What if your relationship isn’t right? What if you did something wrong? You might feel pulled to analyze what the thought means about you, even when you wish you could simply move on.
Maybe you check, research, ask for reassurance, or replay events in your mind. You might avoid certain situations or repeat something until it feels “just right.” Any relief feels temporary. Another question appears, and you’re back to trying to feel sure. Much of this may happen quietly, leaving other people unaware of how exhausting it is.
In our work together, we’ll make room to talk openly about intrusive thoughts and the things you feel compelled to do in response. OCD therapy will focus on helping you step out of that cycle, practice leaving some questions unanswered, and return your time and attention to the life you want to live.
You don’t have to resolve every thought to
choose what you do next.
OCD therapy can help you spend less time caught in rituals and doubt.
Together, we’ll explore how OCD shows up for you, including the intrusive thoughts, situations, and feelings that trigger distress, and the things you do to find relief. We’ll pay attention to both visible compulsions and quieter mental rituals, such as reviewing memories or trying to reason your way to certainty.
I use exposure and response prevention (ERP), a form of cognitive behavioral therapy, to help you gradually approach triggers while practicing leaving compulsions undone. We’ll choose these exercises together, starting with steps that feel challenging but manageable. You’ll understand what we’re practicing and how it connects to your goals.
I also draw from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help you make room for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings while taking action on what matters to you. Our focus is on giving you more freedom to participate in your relationships, work, and everyday life without waiting to feel completely certain.
What we’ll work on
Here’s what we’ll do together:
Identify the intrusive thoughts and rituals that keep you feeling stuck.
Recognize less obvious compulsions, such as mentally reviewing or checking your feelings.
Practice facing triggers without turning to checking, avoidance, or reassurance.
Make room for uncertainty without having to resolve every doubt.
Return to the relationships and activities that OCD has been getting in the way of.
